“DUMRU” THE DRUM FESTIVAL OF INDIA, is India’s first and only drum festival which is organized in the month of December in Pune, India. Dumru is an IP started by Gladpeople Entertainment Networks a production house from Mumbai and is produced by Mr. Amit Bharatwansh a hotelier and entrepreneurs from Pune. Aditya Prabhu of Gladpeople Entertainment Networks is the Festival Director. More than 50 Artists from all over India and the world will fly into Pune and they have promised some mind boggling entertainment
Artists like Vidhvaan Vikku Vinayakram, Guru Karaikudi Mani, Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Ustad Fazal Qureshi, Talvin Singh, Sivamani, Greg Ellis from USA, Pete Lockett from UK, Bondo Fernandes from Goa, V Suresh, N Amrith, Bhavani Shankar, Sridhar Parthasarthy, 16 Folk Artists from Rajasthan from Jodhpur RIFF, 10 Tribal drummers from Goa, 5 body drummers from Kolkata are some of the attraction DUMRU.

DUMRU – Social cause
DUMRU is supporting 2 causes this year onwards. Environment Protection is the first cause. Team DUMRU has announced 1 tree planted per ticket sold. The organizers aim at planting at least 10000 trees in between DUMRU 2012 and DUMRU 2012. NGO Tree Public Foundation will be planting these trees on behalf of DUMRU.The Second cause has been initiated by the founders of DUMRU The Drum Festival of India. Aditya Prabhu and Amit Bharatwansh have announced that they will be providing scholarships to 5 deserving and needy talented percussionists from India. As a part of this scholarship, the 5 selected children ( Age 8 15) will undergo extensive Indian Classical Rhythm , Western Rhythm and General Rhythm training with Drumming super stars from India, UK, America and Australia.Dumru will support these children in all their training and day to day requirements for a period of 1 year. At the end of one year, these children will get a chance to perform with their Gurus in Dumru 2013.
