Orange Peel: Home Remedy for Skin

Orange peels have some really excellent uses for the betterment of the skin. There are various ways in which they can be used. One of the best ones is in the form of a face pack. You should first dry out the orange peels till they become totally dehydrated. This can be done by simply laying them out in the sun for a few days. These dried and hardened peels can then be divided into two equal lots. Grind one half so that it is completely powdered and the other half should be lightly ground so that the powder is coarse. Both of these forms of the peel will have different uses. The coarsely ground orange peels are used as an excellent exfoliating agent. You can massage your face, or, for that matter, any part of the body with this paste. Wash your face with slightly warm water to effectively clean your face of all excess oil. This is an excellent exfoliating agent for oily skin. Orange peels have natural citrus properties which will help to siphon off excess oil from the surface of the skin quite easily and effectively. You can make an excellent face pack with the finely powdered orange peels. Simply mix the powder with equal parts and enough rose water to make a spread able paste. Apply this face pack and leave it on until it dries. You can then wash your face with warm water. Make sure that your final rinse is with cool or cold water to help to close your skin pores. This will be extremely useful in reducing the fine lines and wrinkles on your face and will also help your skin to become rejuvenated and refreshed.

Generally, orange peels also have excellent astringent properties and they can be used to make a very useful astringent lotion. Use a tall bottle, preferably one that has a capacity of one liter, and put in a handful of fresh orange peels in it. Add rose water and a teaspoon of ethyl alcohol. Let this stand for a couple of days. This is an excellent natural astringent that can be used for almost any type of skin. It will be gentle in composition and will help to soothe your skin as well. You can also use fresh orange peels to cleanse your fingers and toe nails. Simply add a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to a handful of fresh orange peels and grind them in a blender. This thick formula can be applied and left on the nails for about half an hour before a bath. All you have to do is just wash it off later. This will leave your nails sparkling clean and shiny.
